There are certain words we use to define beauty.
ELEGANT / GRACEFUL / CHARMING / EXQUISITE / ALLURING / RAVISHING
This is the ideal beautiful woman…right?
Now, lets take a look at some words used to define strong.
POWERFUL / MUSCULAR / TOUGH / RUGGED / FORCEFUL / VIGOROUS
As a woman can you be graceful and tough, elegant and rugged, or exquisite and forceful at the same time? I find it challenging to find the perfect balance between the two.
So, which is it?
Over time culture has trained women to believe independence equals strength. In order to keep up with the times we feel the pressure to walk around with what I call the ‘I don’t need anyone’ spirit. Our drive stems from our need to prove ourselves an equal and not from an authentic heart of courage.
If you follow our journey over the next 6 weeks we are going to take an in depth look at what it means to be both strong and beautiful. We will learn how to fight strong for all the right reasons. Here are 4 words we will begin using to restructure our understanding of strength and beauty.
SECURE / WELL BUILT / SOLID / STURDY
Imagine if your strength wasn’t determined by your ability to beat a man out of his job, but instead your strength was measured by your resiliency to life. You would no longer focus on fighting for your own rights, because you would be determined to fight for those without a voice.
A woman who is strong and beautiful is secure in herself and committed to the refinement process of becoming a balanced beauty. She develops her mind and her character so that she remains sturdy throughout life’s storms. She builds her dreams on solid foundations insuring setbacks will not stop her from moving forward. Her strength is responding to life with kindness, courage, compassion, generosity, confidence, and joy! She does not hide behind a false persona. Instead she embraces her weaknesses so that she can develop who she is from the inside out. She does not waste her time building walls to disguise her vulnerability because she is self-assured of her worth and her purpose.
